Raphael Van de Weijer

It has been 25 years since I started to studie at the Dutch Film School in Amsterdam, more then 20 years since I graduated and I'm still learning, when I'm shooting as well as in my free time. That's what makes this job so fantastic! I derive my inspiration from expositions looking at the work from old and new masters but also from the world around me, street scenes or the moon over a quet lake...
Filmmaking has evolved really fast the past decade and a half and it is wonderful to see how much is produced these days. At the same time it is increasingly difficult to distinguish you from the masses. So I can't be bothered with that I just try to make every shot as good as it can be.
