About Azra
Astrophycisist, writer, illustrator.
Azra Umar were born in Bogota, Colombia, 28 years ago. They were so passionate about history, science, phylosophy, sci fi and dark fantasy since early childhood, reading all they could about. Was reading about the lifes of remarkable astronomers and physicists where their passion for astronomy born. During all school, they were a very talented comic and manga illustrator, as well as a writer, even winning prices at national events of storytelling, essay and poetry.
During high school, they discovered the immense pleasure of maths and physics. From 2009 to 2017, they were studying math and physics, first at the Universidad Nacional and later, at the Universidad de los Andes. Azra were involved on producing a dark energy model based on a space-time property they call 'granularity', during their msc research years. They were also working on a side project, a succesful high performance PCs store, SNova PC, which granted them financial independence. Unfortunately, they were treated for anxiety and depression from 2012 to 2015, and finally, were diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder in 2018, which forced them to change their life's goals. Resilence is Azra's second name hahahaha.
Since 2019, Azra have been working on sci fi, dark fantasy and psycho thriller stories, rich in deep psychological exploration, portraying diverse symptoms. During late 2021, they started to draw again, with the goal of begin a career as a comic maker, and why not, make it to the big screen with some of these. Let us keep dreaming big!!!!!
