A Recipe for Disaster is an edgy, sexy, ½ hr comedy in which Alan Bracknell, a risk-taking, ex-con stock broker stripped of his license is blackmailed to work as a high society catering chef for a client until he repays her the money he lost in a Ponzi scheme.  

SYNOPSIS:

One day defrocked stock broker and ex-con Alan Bracknell walked out of one prison and into another without parole, threatened into chef servitude to pay off a deep debt owed to former investment client Rachel Golden. Joined by a posse of nomadic, disparate waiters at the crossroads of their lives, Alan is destined to sweat it out in the neurotic kitchens of the city’s Who’s Who working for Rachel’s company With Aplomb Catering.

What drives this series is Alan’s dream to unshackle his debt from Rachel, a dream forever undone by his same ‘fly-too-close-to-the sun’ ways that first landed him in jail. Alan’s the fun bad boyfriend who’s like a bug to a light, a leap before you look guy who forever jeopardizes Rachel’s reputation with her clients by creating chaos on the job.

In each episode, Alan smashes the good china only to learn again and again it’s the loyalty of unexpected friends like floor supervisor Conrad Sinclair who are the glue to putting the pieces back together.
