About George

GEORGE TRAHANIS is an actor, singer, voice-over artist, language specialist and spokesperson based in New York and New Orleans. He holds degrees in Theatre and Slavic Languages from Indiana University, Bloomington. George is fluent in French, Russian and Greek and has performed in all of these in various media around the world. He is also an expert at accents and impersonations and has been seen and heard as Buzz the Honey Bee, Lamia the King of Evil, Andreas the Crazy Russian, Pope Caesar ("Androcles and the Lion"), Lord Capulet in the cult favorite, "CSI: Verona" and Carol Channing! One of George’s favorite jobs was originating the role of Prince Georgie, “Heirhead Apparent and Royal Twit” at the Minnesota and Kansas Renaissance Festivals. Another career highlight was singing with Liza Minnelli and Billy Stritch at the United Nations on World Aids Day. Other favorite roles include Felix in "The Owl and the Pussycat", The Count in “The Lower Depths”, Dromio of Syracuse in “Comedy of Errors”, Elyot in “Private Lives,” and the Birdman in “The End of America." Most recently he has appeared on the cabaret scene in "Life with Yia-Yia or How I Survived My Greek Grandmother", his one-man show in which he portrays his entire family!

Unique traits: fluent in English (my first language), Greek, Russian and French. I am actually "bi-coastal" with a residence in NYC and in New Orleans, Louisiana. Working in both places! Yes!
