Weronika Sokalska

Weronika Sokalska is Polish, born in Munich, Germany and soon after moved to Canada. Growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba with sisters, Estera (twin sister) and Dominika and parents, Jolanta and Zbigniew Sokalski.

Weronika’s passion in acting began in early childhood and evolved in elementary, middle years and high school performances.Soon after high school, she started to pursue her acting career in Winnipeg. She had taken professional training at Onalee Ames Film Studio, with Dean Harder, Bradley Sawatzky, and Tamara Gorski. In the fall of 2012, she had spent 3 months in Los Angeles training in two advanced classes at the famous and well regarded acting studio, Ivan Chubbuck Studio.

While in California, she performed in a play called “Dessert Island” which showcased at the Stella Adler Theatre. The opportunity to work with many professional coaches and aspiring actors in Los Angeles, had given Weronika the drive to further pursue acting as a career. Returning back to Winnipeg, she continued in various projects such short films called “Sweet Nothings” with Bifrost Films and their web series called “Roomies”. Electric Reel Productions had offered her to showcase a more serious role as a hostage being held at gun on “Dead Men”. Also, for the first time she will be performing at the 2013 Winnipeg Fringe Festival in a play called "Trust Me!".

Weronika wants to share her talent and to be able to make huge artistic contributions in film, TV and theatre. To use her own life experiences (good or bad) and express it through the art of acting which resonates with the audience, becomes rewarding, fun and fulfilling. Also collaborating with other actors teaches her a lot and inspires her. However, this field is highly challenging but gives her the ability to be persistent and to overcome obstacles. Growing up with parents who are professional in glass creations and who work in the visual arts for the past 30 years, has influenced her and reinforced her decision to participate in the field of art.

Weronika is adventurous, on her spare time she enjoys activities like skydiving, hiking, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
