PAPARAZZO
By Lesley Manuel

GENRE: Crime
LOGLINE:

After a paparazzo is assigned a last-chance gig, his life is upturned when he becomes entangled in a web of lies, affairs, and murder.

SYNOPSIS:

JEREMY WRIGHT (30s) is a loving husband and dad who has bounced around for years, trying to find a job in which he can truly excel. First, he was a journalist. Then, after moving his wife JENNIFER (30s) and daughter OLIVIA (6) to New York in hopes of having his own column and becoming a novelist, he becomes a paparazzo. But even that proves fruitless. Two years later, his power-hungry boss DALE BRAUN (40s) has lost faith in his abilities but likes Jeremy enough to assign him a last-chance gig. It’s to cover the popular senator WINSTON LONG (40s) who is up for re-election. Dale is convinced that he isn't a saint and Jeremy discovers that he's right when he witnesses Winston murder a trans prostitute. But Jeremy can’t get anyone to believe his story because Winston is so well-liked and he has zero proof since the footage that he captured is too dark. Jeremy informs the police, and notwithstanding their incredulous attitude, the investigation comes up empty. During Jeremy's quest to expose the truth, he uncovers the senator's affair with his sister MADDIE (30s), a political journalist, shortly before Winston kills her too. Jeremy unravels as he dedicates every waking moment to bringing Winston down, uncovering more secrets, murders, and a news story that will change his life.
