Examples of a Static Character

Can anyone provide me with a small handful of cinematic examples of static characters? Preferably ones from films of great acclaim? I'm writing a story where the protagonist is a static character, but I'd like it to be seen as credible and I believe having some references to go off of will help.

Some...

Captain America doesn't change...? Really?

I'm not sure if it's what you mean, but I think Rocky Balboa in the first Rocky movie is fairly static in that he's the same kind of person at the end of the movie as he was at the beginning. He doesn...

@Anthony In that MasterClass article, it says, "While there are a lot of different versions of the Captain America story with varying levels of staticism, overall the character remains the same: he be...

Are you watching Cyberpunk: Edge Runners on Netflix?

I have been watching this animation on Netflix and really enjoying it. Very dynamic, very colorful, very edgy. What are your thoughts?

The animation is outstanding, but the character and the story moved me in a way I wasn't expecting at all. With just a few episodes (10), the show made me root for the characters and took me on an emotional roller coaster ride.

Daniel Napoli

Yeah I really dig the color palette as well, and how they use it to show the tech and powers that the characters use.

Sydney S

I love the vibes of these colors together. Thank you for sharing!

Writing Fight Scenes

I was wondering, what's the best way to write a fight scene in a screenplay?

Unless I’m mistaken, the preferred amount of pages in your standard feature script should be around 90 to 130 pages (according to research, it's sometimes 120 pages). Now me being the novice screenwriter that I am, I'm awar...

All great advice, L. Tom Deaver. "The best way to learn is to read the scripts from films you love though. THEN develop your own style and voice." That reminds me of something that I do. When I'm outlining a certain genre, I find and read scripts in that genre.

Animation or Live-Action

When creating new stories, I write with the thought of them being animated, as I always feel more, how should I say, creative liberation. How about you? How would you like your projects to be seen? Live action or animation?

Maurice Vaughan 5

I mainly write scripts with the thought of them being live-action, Michael Cole, but sometimes I think about both (live-action and animation) to figure out which one would be better for the story....

I like watching anime and cartoons. Guilty pleasure. Never thought of it both ways when writing, Very interesting.

PolyD Flynt

I like both. though I have very specific influences, I see my own films looking something like defenders of the earth meets heavy metal for animation and labyrinth or who framed roger rabbit.

Television or Film?

I was wondering, which medium is more profitable, television or film? I wrote a feature screenplay but now I’m wondering if I should convert it into a teleplay. What's your opinion?

Cameron Tendaji

Before you do all this work (because making a series bible is hard work) do you have a rep or an Entertainment lawyer, producer that can show your work to decision makers?

Maurice Vaughan 5

Dan M: "Indie feature film is your easiest path to be a produced screenwriter." That's the path I'm on. I would write for studios, channels, networks, and streamers though.

Pablo Minces

My point of view, do what's best for the story. The ONLY way of making it is by having a great idea beautifully crafted. I am not convinced any story can be both a brilliant TV show and a film.

Kelly Eastman

Thank you for connecting Michael
