Isaiah Kang was born in Illinois in October 1990. When he turned eight, his father finished his education in Chicago and his family moved back to Seoul, South Korea. Living in the center of Asia, Isaiah grew up watching films from various cultures and was inspired by directors, such as Kim Jee-woon, Takeshi Kitano, David Lynch, Lars Von Trier, and Gasper Noé. In age sixteen, Isaiah moved to Oregon, USA by himself. He attended two years of filmmaking class in Westview High School, where he learned his basic cinematography and editing skills. As he graduated from high school, he moved to California and attended New York Film Academy. After six months of education, he decided to drop off from the academy to use his tuition so he can afford equipment and build his career as a filmmaker. Isaiah is currently working on various music videos, short films, and commercials. Isaiah also loves experimenting with lights that adds unique depth to the cinematography.
