About Heidi

Despite holding a masters degree in forensic DNA and Serology, Heidi Putallaz found her creative side won out and for the past few years she has been working in the world of reality television. Where she enjoys melding her sense of story and her technical knowledge of post to bring a show to life.

But writing for scripted television remains her true passion and in the last year alone, Heidi has been a second rounder at the Austin Film Festival, a finalist in Screencraft’s Launch Pad Pilot competition, ABC’s talent showcase, Stage 32’s TV writing contest and the Hollywood Screenplay Contest. Her pilot Green Creek that delved into the underbelly of juvenile correctional facilities was rated high enough to be a featured pilot on the blacklist site (blcklst.com). She is currently in pre-production on a short film she wrote called “Sequestered”.

Heidi is also a member of the TV Academy and the Producers Guild where she serves on the mentoring committee as well as their women’s impact network. When not working or writing, you will find Heidi up in the mountains serving as a fire lookout for the forestry service or off saving another cat as a volunteer for a local animal rescue.
