(This is a remote job; I don't know why the site requires me to enter a location) I am new to this industry, so apologies if I don't have all the terminology correct! My ultimate goal is to have this screenplay made into a feature-length film, so this job is step one on that journey, so I can start shopping a screenplay around. I've been told that I should get a 'rough treatment' written before I try to find a screenwriter, so that's what this job is about. My mother finished her first novel just days before she died, and I published it to Amazon after editing it a little bit. It's a sweet, uplifting story that makes people feel hopeful about the world. The spirituality represented is gentle and behind the scenes: faith is present, but in the background. It generally fits with storylines like Touched by an Angel. The fictional novel is a spiritually uplifting story (a little like A Dog's Purpose, but with human main characters) about two souls who were friends in heaven before they were born, then re-connect in life, and finally connect again in heaven after they die. There are beautiful subplots about a song, nature, animal sanctuary, personal growth, and faith that everything will be all right in the end. I'm looking for someone who resonates with this kind of storyline.

I'm looking to work together, sharing all ascpects of development on a project.The biggest need is ability to organize thoughts, concepts and characters into a story. Within this genre the project must have HEART. I love all the same mafiamovies that most people do and the advancement of podcasting has brought a lot ofinformation to the table on real life figures.I realize mafia is a niche genre.I love the idea and I don’t want that to deter me.The general idea is what if there was a modern supermarket that was run by all connectedpeople. The overall plot would be that the store is going througha vote at this particular location to unionize.The corporation (not connected) does not want this vote to pass while the connectedstore leadership does, because the local union is corrupt as well.Now my strength would be experience in the retail world and how this wouldcorrelate into an interesting script. I have a lot of notes regarding the direction I want to go. However, other than the general idea I want to collaborate on a character list, outline, treatment, and develop a script. Think Superstore meets Casino. This would be loosely based on mafia. My goal is for the story to FOCUS on family, colleagues, relationships, emotions, interactions and behavior with "mafia" wrapped around it. I understand most of us are writing on the side and I expect this to take a while. Need somebody who can help with the other things that go along with completing a script such as: -making yourself available for read thru's and positively pitching/talking about the script. -taking the slings and arrows of critisicm and applying it to improve the project. -helping me to locate connections to pitch to and following thru on these contacts. -ability to help research as needed in the development of the story. My only expectation is to work with good people, have fun, and take this seriously. This is not paid. This is a "couple guys/girls getting together to try and write a script." Date for Production day 2 (will be shot in CT in August) is TBA. Phase 1 Location will be just over the CT border in MA, at a beautiful lakeside campground. Scenes will be exteriors. Plot: Three boys at a sleepaway summer camp discover an abandoned town that is home to a dark spirit, intent on vengeance. We are casting for three characters; Christian, Luke and Dustin. Must be 18 years old, able to present as 16. Christian – A natural leader. He is adventurous, in shape, and doesn’t care about following camp rules. Christian is friends with Luke and vibes with him well. He thinks Dustin is a bit of a nerd, but he’s polite to him because Christian is an inclusive person. Luke – Much like Christian he's adventurous, in shape, and doesn’t care about following camp rules. He is friends/vibes well with Christian, but he can be really obnoxious and immature at times. Luke also finds Dustin to be somewhat annoying (since he also considers him to be nerdy and doesn’t like that Dustin cares about following the rules.) He often makes fun of Dustin. Dustin - Heavy set, out of shape, the "third wheel." Dustin, isn’t very adventurous and is someone who cares about following the rules. He is often reluctant to follow the other two, but he desperately wants to fit in. Dustin is a smart kid who likes to spend time on the internet, researching interesting facts, often “breaking the rules” by visiting underground blogs/websites on the dark web. He struggles a bit with the morality of it, but his deep knowledge makes him resourceful. Non-union only please.
