Hi everyone, I have read the previous messages with interest. Regarding Animation, I am writing a script suitable for animation, and wonder if this is the right place to ask advice? I've written Feature and Short scripts in non-animation first. I am now interested in the former. Many thanks.

Hi Kathleen -- a good story is a good story. There is no difference in structure or format in animation vs. live action. Animation is not a genre as it is often referred to, it's a style of filmmaking. There used to be a rule of thumb question, 'why should this film be animated -- in other words, explain the world that needs to be created that is prohibitive to create/film in live action. Today, that is not so much the case: (almost all live action films these days rely on VFX animation) which is one of the reasons we are seeing so many remakes of animated classics, now being done in live action, Cinderella, Maleficent, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations, Dumbo, Pinochio... the list goes on. Focus on story and remember your target audience as you develop your theme.
