Creating Beyond the Screen - Has an artist ever inspired you beyond art itself — in the way you live, create, or see the world?

Before being a filmmaker, I’ve always been a maker.

I recently started recreating, by hand, the mosquito hat from a painting by Seongryul, an artist I deeply admire.

I’m sewing it myself, inspired by his poetic and melancholic vision, the way his characters seem to float between reality and dream.

For me, creation isn’t limited to cinema.

It’s in the act of building, touching, assembling, whether it’s a hat, a poster, or a film frame.

Each object becomes part of the same world I’m slowly shaping: fragile, human, and filled with quiet emotion.

When the hat is finished, I plan to take a photo inspired by the painting, as if the image had come to life again, years later.

That painting looks incredible, Koby Nguyen! Authors like Stephen King, bands like Aerosmith, poets like Maya Angelou, and more inspired me. Some inspired me as a writer, and some inspired me as a person. I'm looking forward to seeing your mosquito hat!
