Mae West expected The Hays Office to come after her rule-breaking scripts -- and they did.

Despite The Hays Office's bans and restrictions, Mae West killed a female in one film and a male in another movie. Can you name them? http://maewest.blogspot.com/2017/03/mae-west-men-friends.html

A very long article about MAE WEST and her career in Tinseltown appeared five years ago. It was written by Paul Phaneuf. Let's pick this u...

In my comedy script Moskowitz & Lupowitz would you be willing to play Mae. I don't want to use an actress. I want someone who is passionate about her idol. Let me know it is slated to go into production in Mid 2018

LindaAnn Loschiavo

Steven Harris Anzelowitz I'm a bit confused. You want someone "to play Mae" -- but not an actress, such as Darlene Violette, who is very good in that role. Maybe you'd like to tell me more sometime -- and why I'd be more suitable than a trained actress, who has portrayed Mae onstage in NYC.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

You love Mae. You always share Mae. If you don't want to play Mae. Then Mae will not be in my Film Moskowitz & Lupowitz. I am a SAG/AFTRA signatory. The day rate for this film is $335 a day. The weekly is $1,667. There are many other celebrity portrayals in the script from the 1920' to the 1960's. Up to you.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz I've written 2 plays on Mae West: "Courting Mae West" and "Diamond Lil" and, having seen my plays produced in NYC, I always thought the Mae-actresses had much more talent than I had. That's all I was trying to say. That's cool that you want Mae West in the play. I know you mentioned Mae was a patron at your family's restaurant.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

LindaAnn Loschiavo Yes she was, And I repeat my request. If YOU play her she is in the Film 'MOSKOWITZ & LUPOWITZ" if you DON'T she is not. And please do not bring my cousin @Gary Craig into this. He still does not believe I have the writer/director/producer credits to pull this off. But I am doing it anyway. I am the last Anzelowitz and have the right to do so.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz - OK, agreed. I am on board. Does the old bldg still exist? I have never met Cousin Gary but I'll bet he will respect what you're doing to uphold the legacy. (Some folks are jealous.) P.S. I'm helping the owners of Gage & Tollner find their next tenant --- the 1890s interior has been landmarked.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

LindaAnn Loschiavo Great, Once the final draft is done I will make arrangements to get you a copy. It is going to be the 5th script in my pipeline.I am finishing up the 4th script now 'AMSTERDAM 74' hope to have 'MOSKOWITZ & LUPOWITZ done by the end of the year. The old building is still there except the Church next door took it over as their school. Cousin Gary has a Facebook page on Moskowitz & Lupowitz so he has his idea of the family legacy I have mine.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz Sounds very exciting. I live downtown so I'm familiar with "The Jewish Rialto" that once dominated the East Village and 2nd Avenue eateries such as Ratner's and Rappaport's (still in business until the 1970s) . LindaAnn Loschiavo Read your Link. Most of this I knew about from my family. I was surprised he did not mention M&L but than again the tour was on all the theaters than. I will tell you this though. After the show guess where the majority went to eat? Yup, Thanks.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz Since Mae West was photographed in your family's restaurant, what year was she there? Mae used to visit Sammy's Bowery Follies (267 Bowery) because performers she had worked with in variety were onstage.

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

My cousin Gary Craig is keeper of the family photos for M&L. And we don't get along. So I don't have the answer to that.
