UTA Job List

Does anyone have access to the current UTA Job list that goes out weekly? If you are willing to share it with me -- it would be much appreciated! I am an aspiring writer, but also want to work in the industry. I used to work in the industry in various capacities and looking to get back in. Thanks again! Danna Moos

D Marcus

What did you used to do Danna?

Danna Rosenthal

Hi: When I first started out I worked as an Assistant to a Motion Picture Talent Agent at then William Morris, I worked as a development assistant at Warner Bros. and Disney and mainly in PR/Marketing. I am interested to see if I can still parlay my skills into something. Do you have access to the UTA Job List? I would be very appreciative. Thank you! Danna

Regina Lee

Just Google it. Several blogs post it.

D Marcus

Do you have a link to any of those blogs, Regina?

Regina Lee

I think tempdiaries is one. Just go to the Google search page and enter "UTA Job List."

D Marcus

Of course anyone could do a Google search. "Just Google it" is pretty standard advice. I just thought that you may know some blogs that post it and would be willing to offer a little help.

Regina Lee

Hey D Marcus, since the job list is updated every week, I don't want to assume the responsibility of posting a new link every week. Please feel free to do that. To me, this was a case in which we should try to teach a man to fish and give him the know-how to fish for himself forever, rather than give a man a fish for a single job list. Long run perspective?

I promise to refrain from overuse of proverbs in the Lounge. :-) This one seemed the perfect Saturday to drop a proverb.

Regina Lee, Stage 32 is a community. I am not asking anyone to do a job for me. I would be more than happy to help someone if I could. I asked a question if anyone had or has access to the UTA Job List and if they are willing to share it. Back when I had access to the UTA Job List you could not just "Google It" it was exclusive and not just posted on the internet for all to see. D. Marcus, am I right in saying her response of "Just Google It" was not in the spirit of community and helping others? Thanks to you both though for responding to my post and in the future I hope to be able to pay it forward or back! Have a great weekend! Danna

Regina Lee

Yep, you guys are welcome to file my responses under "unhelpful to the community," and I will file them under "no good deed goes unpunished." To each his own way. All good.

D Marcus

Regina, I didn't ask you to post a new link each week. One link, one time to help is all I asked. If your advice is limited to "Just Google it" then that's fine. If you feel it's important to teach others to use Google rather than to help, that's fine. You know the blogs that post the list. You choose not to offer a link. If you see that as a good deed that was punished, that's fine, too. As you say, to each his own. If I knew of a blog that posted the list I would have offered Danna the link. To me that is a good deed. Deena, that is my experience with the list, too. It wasn't available using a search. And I'm with you on the spirit of this community. It's fine if one doesn't have access to the info (I don't) but I don't understand the "teach a man to fish" proverb in this case,. I'm sure you know about Google. I suspect you already tried that method. For the record; I tried Google. Couldn't find the blogs Regina says post the list.
