Anything Goes : What do you stand for? by Keith A Hadding

What do you stand for?

Anyone who puts themselves in the public eye, who is worth his/her salt, must stand for something. SO what do you stand for? I would like to know. What fires you up and makes your blood boil? what makes you sad and want to cry? Then what if I told you if we trace back to the root of every issue we face we would find the same root cause? Would you want to know what it is? Would you want to do something about it of you could? I would like to know...

Hey Keith. Interesting post. It can be scary for some to spill on what they stand for, especially if it's not popular and shared by the majority. But without standing for something, you'll fall for everything, right? What fires me up and makes my blood boil? Seeing the promiscuous, profane, vulgar lifestyle Hollywood sells teenagers and young adults. I'm eighteen, and there's a plethora of ways for me to have a good time without getting drunk, sleeping around, or cussing people out. I believe being able to tell stories is a privilege, and that I should do so with integrity.

Wow what a really good and well thought out answer. Thank you for that and as well for the inspiration to know that there are some young people out there that understand. I finds that when I am speaking to groups that quite often they just don't get it. They say they can see the mess we are in today. That they recognize that other parts of the world have already gone this route and yet we somehow think it will be different for us? I say If your going to stand for something then you have to show up, stand up, step up, speak up, and not just for your self but for those who for whatever reason cannot on their own. It should make our blood boil when the things we see go against the very fabric of what we claim to be what we are for. Thank you again for sharing with us.... God bless you

I don't know about the higher frequency part but I do believe in God and yes we are all a part of the greater whole. If someone says they do not believe in the church or that it does not work for them, I say its because you have not brought your part to the table. Its like trying to drive a car with no steering wheel or breaks, each part is vital to the proper operation of the whole body of Christ. That's really the root of my question. What makes your blood boil, what do you believe in, and are you then willing to do something about it other than sit there and complain? I face that challenge daily in the ministry God has called me to. The Central NC Coalition for Men's Discipleship is about reaching men, asking them to do their part as God planned which will in turn be for the greater good of all. But those blessed with gifts and talents more often tan not stand back and wait as it someone else can bring their part to the dance.... If your not willing to do something then at least write a check to help those who are... www.cnc-cmd.com Bring your gifts talent and treasures and watch what God can do with them... Be blessed and thanks for sharing.

My principled stand is about (and here is an dated term) Gaia. This is a broader thing than being ecological or sustainable. My wife and I have tended some land for our whole life. It has about ½ mile of lakefront which we have left as a natural riparian zone - that is a lot of income to forgo in the name of Gaia. It is mostly fish breeding grounds which would have been destroyed by cottagers 'cleaning it up' and we spend more time than I like chasing people off it who just assume it is public and they are free to cut wood or hunt small mammals and so on. It has 45acres of land behind it which is now registered as a managed forest with goals primarily about habitat. We leave a lot of deadwood for our furry friends to set up homes taking very little as sustainable firewood. What breaks my heart is to see the water level managed so that the 'nature loving' city folk can roar around in their 300HP boats swamping nests and spewing fumes. I really believe that there will be a time that people who use recreational gas guzzlers will be viewed as despicable. So we are doing what we can and we have really invited a lot in preservation. CBC/PBS were nice enough to feature us on Cottage Life a while ago which some of you might have seen but if not (or also) you can have a little virtual visit here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/parquin/sets/72157594492013803/ I look forward to reading all your passions in this discussion Cheers, Mike

Not a simple question... http://politicalfilm.wordpress.com/

Actually, it's a very easy question. I am an actor, therefore I absorb and reflect the character I am portraying. It takes a bit to transform back to myself, because I do so love to give 200%. But, there you have it. And, it is a joy that leaves me feeling grateful for the opportunity to give breath to the writer's imagination.

Alle, yes you did pass with flying colors. And you have hit the target dead in the middle. Men. Men are typically the common denominator in each and every issue we face and deal with. Not just aggressive men or broken men, but at the root of every issue I know of is a man making a bad, or several bad decisions, choices, or actions. Its not about blaming men or bashing them either, its about recognizing it, and making a change. I asked about the one most thing that burdens you because I find even at that not everyone will be willing to do something about it. There in lies the real challenge, does your burden hurt you enough to make you want to do something about it if you knew what to do? Because the biggest issue of all is standing back watching as America falls and doing nothing to help....... That's where Man in the Mirror ministries comes in. When you can see what is breaking your heart, yet you don't know where to turn, who to turn to, or what you can do to make a real difference, we can help.... we are spending our lives learning and sharing a process, not a program, not more work to do, but rather a process to help men make better choices and to live lives with a transformed heart for Christ. From this all issues will be improved. If you are in NC I would love to come and share with you and your group, family, church whatever, about what Gods plans are to make a real difference in the battle for Men's souls. If you are in another part of America, you can check with me and I'll try to link you with te closest area director or you can visit www.maninthemirror.org I would like to thank everyone for their input and comments, I am always seeking to learn more about the things in life that are most important to us. God bless you all.
