"Exploring the Role of AI in the Future of Independent Filmmaking"

Hi everyone, it's a pleasure to join this community.

I'm currently conducting a small study on the implementation of artificial intelligence in the film industry, and I'd love to hear a wide range of opinions—positive, critical, or even contradictory.

Considering the recent controversies in Hollywood—such as the strikes over authorship rights, the automation of creative processes, and debates surrounding intellectual property—I believe it's essential to create a space for discussion about how this new wave of technology is (or isn’t) transforming production, distribution, and funding models, especially for those of us working independently or as amateur creators.

Do you think AI truly represents an opportunity to democratize access and facilitate audiovisual creation, or is it yet another barrier due to technological and economic gaps?

Have your own projects been stalled by a lack of funding or human resources, and do you think AI tools could change that? Or do you still see it as a distant or even problematic development, whether ethically or artistically?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing your point of view—even if it’s pessimistic, speculative, or unconventional. This space is meant exactly for that: to think out loud and reflect without fear of judgment or sounding pretentious.

Thanks in advance for your time and insights!
