https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/prop-guns-spark-debate-after-cinem... As I'm sure everybody has heard by now, there was an accident on a film set that got the cinematographer killed (R.I.P.). I found this article just now and was wondering what everyone's thoughts on the subject are. Give it a read, tell me what you think.

There's obviously different gun laws in USA. I once tried in UK to get some guns that could NOT fire, just fakes with solid insides yet told I had to have a police interview to use them on set. Something to do with scaring the public which didn't make sense cos everyone on set would have known they were harmless.
Yeah, gun laws here in the US can be fairly lax depending on what state you're in. It mostly depends on firearm type, use of any attachments, open carry vs. concealed carry, etc. And that's for regular firearms. I have no idea what the law says in terms of film props. And especially with the use of CGI for everything else, I think the industry will start moving towards guns that can't shoot and just adding in the proper effects in post. That's just my opinion, though.
