Sometimes I wonder how often producers and managers actually discover projects through posts here on Stage 32.
As an independent filmmaker and screenwriter, I’m currently developing a feature project and actively connecting with other creatives. The journey from script to screen always seems to come down to persistence, collaboration, and finding the right creative partners.
Curious to hear from producers, managers, or filmmakers here how often do you discover projects or collaborators through conversations on this platform?
Always open to connecting and exchanging ideas with fellow storytellers.

Michael David That’s interesting good to know it does happen, even if indirectly.
From what you’ve seen or heard, do you think it’s more about consistent engagement here, or building relationships through direct conversations over time?

Chetan Kumar Thanks for sharing this, Chetan!
That sounds interesting. I’d definitely be open to connecting and understanding more about his work and experience.
Currently, I’m developing my own projects, so I’m mainly looking to collaborate with people who can contribute creatively (especially in areas like art direction/production design).
Would love to see his work profile or connect directly please feel free to share his contact.
Also, regarding budget, it would depend on the project scale, but I’m open to discussing workable options.
Thanks again!

Abhijeet Aade hard to say because I don't have personal success experience with OWAs or Pitch Sessions here. But all the power to the many people who have had their films made through Stage32 OWAs and Pitch Sessions!

Michael David Appreciate your honesty, Michael that’s helpful to hear.
I’ve been trying to understand how effective these platforms really are beyond the surface success stories. Good to know it varies from person to person.
For you personally, what’s worked better when it comes to finding meaningful collaborations or getting projects moving?
I've seen producers and directors make posts asking for scripts, Abhijeet Aade. Producers search profiles for projects. Maybe managers too. I sold four short scripts to a producer by posting them on my profile (and networking). And I've been messaged by producers about projects and jobs after networking with them in the Lounges.

Maurice Vaughan That’s really encouraging to hear especially the part about selling scripts directly through your profile and networking.
It definitely reinforces the idea that consistency and visibility matter here. I’ve recently started being more active and sharing my work, so it’s great to know it can actually lead somewhere.
If you don’t mind me asking, was it more your posts that attracted them, or your profile/portfolio setup that made the difference?
That's great that you've started being more active and sharing your work, Abhijeet Aade! Congratulations! Hope it leads to connections, requests, and more!
It was more my posts and my comments on their posts that attracted them. Having a strong logline and strong synopsis on my profile's logline page helped too. The way I organized my logline page and putting a short pitch (like a five-word pitch) on the logline page also helped.

That’s incredibly helpful really appreciate you breaking that down, Maurice Vaughan .
It’s interesting that your posts and engagement played such a big role. I’ve started focusing more on being active here as well, so this gives me a clear direction on what actually works.
The idea of a strong logline page and even a short pitch is something I hadn’t fully thought about definitely going to refine mine.
If you don’t mind sharing, how often were you posting or engaging before you started seeing results?
I've made so many posts and comments for so long, I don't remember when I started seeing results, Abhijeet Aade. I haven't been that active on Stage 32 lately because of health issues. I've been catching up on some posts and messages today. But it's not always about being super active. Sometimes it's about meeting the right person/people.

That makes a lot of sense, Maurice Vaughan really appreciate your honesty.
It’s reassuring to hear that it’s not just about constant activity, but also about connecting with the right people at the right time. I guess it’s a mix of consistency and timing.
Wishing you a smooth recovery as well hope everything gets better on your end soon.
Thanks again for sharing your experience, it’s genuinely helpful.

Abhijeet Aade The short answer is yes! Producers, managers, and collaborators discover projects and talented people through Stage 32 conversations all the time. But it usually doesn’t happen from a single post alone. It comes from consistent visibility, thoughtful engagement, and relationship building over time.
We’ve seen some really great examples of this in the community! For instance, Sandra Correia built her crew and created her first short film, which is now screening at festivals around the world, from connections she made right here in the lounges:

Just recently, a producer reached out to Stage 32 member Lauren Hackney to collaborate on a screenplay after connecting through conversations in the Screenwriting Lounge. She shared about that experience in yesterday's blog:

Keep showing up, sharing your process, asking questions like this, and engaging with others. That’s where the real momentum tends to build.
And of you're curious about the other ways that Stage 32 members are finding success, you can check out this awesome blog from a few weeks ago that breaks down other Success Stories from the last year: https://www.stage32.com/blog/land-your-first-win-what-you-can-learn-from...

It happens all the time! We have had hundreds of success stories over the years that you can more about here: https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. We recently published an article compiling the more than 80 success stories that happened last year with writers getting signed, having their projects produced and more: https://www.stage32.com/blog/land-your-first-win-what-you-can-learn-from... I'd recommend sending me and the team an email at success@stage32.com, sharing more information about your writing and your goals so that we can help you.

It’s encouraging to see so many success stories coming through the platform. I’ll definitely take some time to go through them and understand the process better.
I’ll also reach out via email and share more about my work and what I’m aiming to build as a filmmaker.
Thanks again for the support!

Ashley Renée Smith Thank you for sharing this really appreciate the detailed insight.
It makes a lot of sense that it’s more about consistent engagement and building genuine relationships over time rather than expecting results from a single post.
I’ll definitely go through those examples and keep showing up, contributing, and connecting with people here.
Thanks again for the guidance!
