Elizabeth Banks against Steven Spielberg

The Feminists..

If you comment on things like 'huh', you are the inadequate one.

Me, me, me, me, what about Steven Spielberg, perhaps evidently he hasn't been so inclined by his way of life to have a female lead, not his problem.

Does she want more roles (women in general), she has to break habits and make it happen, either look for innovative independent screenwriters, producers the whole lot.

It's not his prerogative, it's hers.

Women are half of humanity, are we not? A wider variety of perspectives and increased diversity of thought will only further benefit the industry. It sounds as if Ms. Banks may have misspoke some? But with the dreadful low numbers of female directors and other sad industry gender imbalance statistics, I completely understand her point. Still. It's a societal issue. We need to support all filmmakers. ;) ...Oh, and men are (or can be) feminists too, Nkosi.

Thanks for the link, Ryan. Much appreciated. ;)

I'm happy she said what she did. We need the constant reminder, not just regarding lead roles, but also women as writers, directors, and producers. It should be so common that it becomes the norm. We shouldn't need an amazing woman like Ava Duvernay to break down barriers and remind us of what we're missing.
