No, Alle, I do not mean HD DVD. I have a film I need to convert (originally was a 35mm) to a HV DVD. I am wondering guys, if it means HOT VIDEO DVD. Is this a new format. I will find out. It is international... thanks for all your input!
Neringa, it's only branding. Standard DVD technology. And now I'm curious. I've never heard of HV DVD, and I've spent a few hours searching. Is it like a step up from Blue-Ray?
"HD DVD" was the high def standard that lost out to bluray. "HDV" is one of the various formats of HD video. SOunds like someone was mixing up their acronyms.
Hi all, there is a HV DVD ts... it is for authoring/replication and the program to do it, at least one of them is Apple DVD Studio Pro. Also, it is the program you can use to add subtitles... this is a very detail program and I am still doing research for it... Phew...
Neringa, the HVDVD ts file is for HD DVD. It's (as has been mentioned) defunct. It's been superseded by Blu Ray. Unless the person receiving the HD DVD has an old HD DVD player, the disk will be nothing more than a shiny coaster. You should double check with the person requesting this and see if it's Blu Ray they want, or if they have an old HD DVD player.
Thanks, Alle... it is the format which is created by Apple DVD Studio Pro... and the person who requested it, also revised his request where another DVD is not necessary in any format. So we are good. Thanks so much for your input! Greatly appreciated
I would like to thank all of your for your comments and advice... It helped me with my research and actually added to my sounding like a professional film techie. Your voices were greatly appreciated...
DVDs worn as ear-rings :)
HaHa...
HV DVD Is Universal Studios imprint for "Home Video DVDs" Of you've mistyped HD DVD...

Tony, I am curious... what is the difference from a standard DVD and a Home Video?

Thanks, Alle and Tony for your input -- am checking with source if there is a typing error or a branding. Thanks again...
It's quite possible it's a typo. However, I think the acronym was used to mean Home Video.

Ha...I got to go back a lot of years. Jim got it. I remember rendering in HDV. It was at least 10 years ago. But, I think Jim answered your question.
