A Producer friend of mine from New York took a chance and reached out to two different producers here in Los Angeles, setting up a lunch with the three of them. He wasn’t expecting them to say yes, but they did and he flew out to Los Angeles and had a really good meeting. he recommended this podcast. We had a really good conversation ourselves about going for it and not getting in the way of yourself. Thanks for sharing the podcast, Xochi Blymyer. Congratulations to your producer friend on getting the meeting! Your post reminds me of when I tried to make my first feature film. I called up the reps of major movie actors to get them on the project. It was a long shot, and I was nervous, but I went for it anyway.
Robert Rodriguez said in the podcast "Sift through the ashes of your failure, and you'll find the key to your next success is in there, but if you're not looking for it, you don't find it." I used to let failures and rejection really get me down, but I try to learn from them now.
