Entertainment and Contract Attorney sseking additional funding knowledge

I am currently in pre-production on a feature with an award winning writer, an award winning director and several extremely well known actors. Seeking additional sources of knowledge to increase our budget which is rather slim at the moment. Also, would like to discuss theatrical feature release vs. new media release. I placed a short film that I sold to cable some time ago on Vimeo. Anyone interested in viewing it, please email me and I will send you the location and password. Looking forward to making friends and connections here on Stage 32.

I think it would help people comment and offer suggestions if you were a bit more specific. For example, a 'slim' budget could mean almost anything. I'd give the genre of your project, the status of your script, and indicate whether the 'an award winning director and several extremely well known actors' have made a written commitment to the project by providing letters of intent. I'd also give more information about the funds which you need including the general budget level, the general nature of any financial commitments you have, possibility for soft money, etc.

Budget 80K. Actors have sent in notice of their intent depending on shooting schedule. Looking at shooting in late August. 99.99% takes place in 1 location. Location is in Los Angeles. Funds committed so far are personal funds of 10K. This is a comedy written by Burt Prelutsky (a zillion credits). Let me know if you would like any further info. Thank you.

Mr. Prelutsky has a lot of TV credits. You may have thought of this, but TV is growing rapidly now, and assuming that the project remotely fits the definition, I'd think you'd want to shop the project with prodcos that do TV pilots.

He has also done features but, I thank you for your input.

Point taken. But, just my opinion, TV may be an easier medium in which to sell your project. Although I admit no experience in selling a completed feature comedy, from what I've read, comedy is not easily sold overseas so that SAs/distributors may not be so enthusiastic. That said, it all depends on the nature and execution of your project.

The information I have is that most TV prods are closed systems and not open to outside works. If anyone has different info I'd love to hear it.
