Introduce Yourself : Back again. by Adrian Long

Adrian Long

Back again.

Greetings from sunny California or as we say it in Socal, What's up.

Been a while since I have posted so a reintroduction feels right. I'm a screenwriter for TV and features, and lately I've been adapting my stories into comicbook scripts. Right now I'm busy with editing my latest pilot. Picture 300 and Gladiator blending with the mythic engery of Lord of the Rings.

My writing pipeline has action, sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, and horror. I love blending genres.

My screenplays have a mix of romance, tension, some scares, and plenty of action & adventure.

My next project is an adventure-romance feature that is set in 1940s America. A story of two people fighting for eachother in a place that dictates who they are allowed to love.

My wife and I are a writing team, working together crafting stories for the past 5 years.

I'm ready to be more involved on Stage 32. Excited for conversations, receiving advice, and potential collaborations.

Cheers to bold ideas, fantastic worlds, and the stories we bring to life.

Hi Adrian Long ! I love that you blend genres - do you find that your brain enjoys that challenge? I’m interested in your process of adapting your screenplays into comic book scripts- tell us more about that, that’s really cool!

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey, Adrian Long! Great to meet you! Oh, hey - where in SoCal? I'm in LA myself, but about to wander down to San Diego for a weekend getaway. Ooo, I LOVE all the epic stories you're working on! I'm a huge fan of Gladiator (the original) - fight scenes are my jam! I'm a writer/director myself and while I tend to favor comedy (RomCom or Coming of Age), I will always make time for mysteries and action! Not a horror fan, but did plenty of it when I was first starting. I also create with my husband - isn't it great having a creative partner in your domestic partner?!

If you're looking for more ways to become active on Stage 32, I'm sure Ashley would love more moderators. You can email her at COMMUNITY@stage32.com for more info.

As for me, last year I launched my Off Duty, Thanks! brand (www.offdutythanks.shop - I just made new apparel for Mother's Day!) and this year I'm focusing on publishing my #StoryMath YouTube channel and book. It's not ready yet, but here is the channel if you'd like to start following ahead of our launch: https://www.youtube.com/@storymath.online

Otherwise, I spend most of my time in the Stage 32 Writers' Room, though, so if ever you need accountability or more regular activities throughout the week to keep your projects moving forward, feel free to join me there! For more info, you can drop me or Geoff an email at WritersRoom@stage32.com Cheers!

Hi Adrian Long, welcome back! I’m Ashley, Head of Community here on Stage 32. It’s great to see you jumping back in and ready to be more involved.

You’ve got a really exciting mix of projects in your pipeline, and I love that you’re exploring multiple formats like adapting your work into comic scripts. That kind of versatility can open a lot of doors. As you get back into the swing of things, I’d really encourage you to stay consistently active in the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting) and the Producing Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing). And since you’re working across formats, the Transmedia Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/transmedia) is another great space to connect with creatives who are building stories across comics, film, and beyond. Showing up regularly, joining conversations, and sharing your process is one of the best ways to build relationships and create opportunities here.

I’d also love to invite you to my next Community Open House. It’s a great way to reconnect with the platform, meet other creatives live, and get a sense of how to use Stage 32 strategically:

Your 1940s adventure-romance sounds like a powerful story. What inspired that particular setting and dynamic?
