My name is Oleksandr. I’m a screenwriter, and I’ve been writing films and series for about seven years now. I’m self-taught—I never studied screenwriting formally—but I’ve loved cinema since childhood, and eventually, I decided I wanted to write it myself.
I write in various genres—comedies, horror, thrillers, action. For me, there’s no such thing as a genre limit because I know how to tell compelling stories in different ways. The most important element of a film for me is theme. I believe that if a film has no theme, then it has no soul. That’s why I always begin by formulating the theme, and then I craft the story around it in a way that’s clear and emotionally resonant for the audience.
Currently, I’m working on a screenplay called "Fast as a Fly." A talented producer, Sandra Isabella, once said she always asks the question: Why you, and why now?
And here’s my answer:
Why me? Because I know how to speak to younger audiences. This film is aimed at them—so that they understand and relate to it.
Why now? Because the film addresses an urgent theme. In today’s world of TikTok, Instagram, and instant fame, young people often believe that money, recognition, and success come easily and overnight. But I believe that what comes quickly can also be lost just as fast.
This film highlights the truth: real success only comes through effort, patience, and time—it’s not instant. That’s the message at the heart of this story.

"For me, there’s no such thing as a genre limit because I know how to tell compelling stories in different ways." I feel the same way, Aleksandr Rozhnov. I mainly write Horror and Action, but I can write different genres. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Mystery, etc.
Fast as a Fly is a catchy title, and your screenplay has a great theme!

Most of all, I love comedy because laughter can reveal so many themes, and through humor, you can show any situation. Of course, there are stories where laughter would be inappropriate, and the story needs to be told seriously—that’s when I write drama or thriller. And if it’s about a person’s inner state or psychological struggles, then horror or mystery works best to help the audience understand what’s going on inside the character’s mind.

You're right, Aleksandr Rozhnov. And Dramas can drain the audience emotionally. That's why I like to add some Comedy in my Drama scripts.
