Post-Production : Anyone here use ready-made production music in the PP process? by Dave Yowell

Anyone here use ready-made production music in the PP process?

I'm a multi instrumental musician and composer with a lot of music placements in countless main stream film and TV productions. I was just wondering how many of you use production music libraries? Would it be the PP engineer / VT editor or who, that decides? I would imagine the final say would be the director, but these roles are often combined and sometimes a PP engineer / VT editor would suggest something when there is a rush on? For any of you who do use production music libraries, I would love to know which are your favorite "go to" ones.

APM Music, Extreme, and a handful of others are the good ones. But I know quite a few video editors that use Pond5, and musicbed.

Hi Samuel, thanks for your comment. Yes, I have quite a few of my tracks with Extreme exclusively and they get a lot of placements for me. I do also have tracks on Pond5 non-exclusively and sales are good but it is a royalty free / buyout deal, so no PRO royalties. I will check out what the deal is with APM next. Many thanks.
