Post-Production : Editing Service by Shane Kelly Davis

Editing Service

I have edited a feature length film which has plenty of issues. I can't fix the lighting, sound, image stabilization, and picture quality with the editing software I have not to mention the title and end are in need of assistance as well. I was wondering if anyone knows of a editing service that can clean up messy projects? I believe in this movie but I don't know if I can release it as is.

hi. i can help you regarding this. let me know what kind of assistance you were looking into. thank you.

Someone to take my movie and polish it. It's edited but barely. I mean take the film if possible and improve it's deficits in sound, lighting, and image stabilization

Thanks so much for responding. This was my first film I made. No film school and no training so I made a lot of technical mistakes. This was a time in my life where I was greatly depressed so my focus wasn't the best. However, I believe in this film and will do all I can to make it presentable. The sound issue more concerns click sounds from the camera and some uneven sounds. The lighting is so dark in scenes I use try to brighten it but it's unequal. Image stabilization feature I used with my software slows down the scenes too much. There are some blur issues that I can't fix with my software.

Making it all the way through the shoot and to Rough Cut is hard time. Much appreciated it that you made this far in your first feature. For all of the things you want to make it presentable, you have to mention exactly how you are willing to give the film to polish. As Robin Remde said, it all depends on the shot. I will be able to help you in editing it tight to final cut and some shots are unfixable like blur or over exposed shots. Associating with Robin would be great. You can PM me the details about the exact shots or sequences so that we can take it forward.

Well, the samsung I used has poor picture quality in some scenes where it's not the best lit. clicking from the camera movement is another issue where it's heard in the background and there are some scenes which I used image stabilization feature makes the scene move too slow, there are also zoom issues in some scenes. Half of the film is fixed shots while some are moving. This is the polish I am talking about. By the way, thanks for responding.

Thanks Robin, The advice is appreciated. I will use this as a learning tool or maybe even reshoot the damn thing. I appreciate the time it took to respond to this. I am learning so it might be a steep curve but it's worth it.
