Myself and my co-author have created a massive project, first in novels and recently we adapted most of the books into screenplays and have landed an options agreement for book one...however, we'd like to see the rest of the series get optioned either for movies or for a tv series. To generate interest and increase sales for the books we're looking at creating trailers to be posted on vimeo and or youtube. To do this, we understand we will need to create sizzle reels but not coming from the background of the industry, we are wanting to know what would be the best place to start. This series currently has twelve books available in ebook with a guide to the first few books as well. It is a paranormal, romance, action, adventure, series which we believe would be a great project - its drawn enough attention to get the first book optioned. However, because of the size of the series, and the number of books, we felt it would be best to expand our search to get the rest of the series ready to pitch. So, my concern is what should be the starting point to getting the sizzle reels for each book done - or should it be for the whole series? What would be the biggest factors we should take into consideration when creating a budget and or looking to hire/start filming and working with people to get the scenes filmed? Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you, David, for the tips. The first book has already been optioned, we signed that deal last year which was exciting. However, the concern we have is building up followers and getting the exposure that the rest of the books will be as enticing to production firms. To do this, we want to do up a short, maybe some episodes posted on Vimeo and or youtube. For those to be done, we need to start at the beginning and build up interest.

The success of the book series will open up other options but you need to work on marketing the books first and not overreach. Concrete on building that brand, getting good reviews and generating positive word-of-mouth.

Also, you should reach out to this company. Owned by Tusca Musk (Elon Musk's sister). She's looking for romantic originals. She wants to build a library of titles.
