Hi, my name is Chereze I am 29 years old, and I am from South Africa. I just finished a new project. It is a reality show. What is my approach to selling my show? I hate reality tv more than anyone. But I decided to write something worth watching. Instead of just watching people doing nothing. Now the daunting task of asking what to do next? I have a fully developed project. Where do I go? Who do I query?

Hi Chereze, I'm living in SA as well. I'm not 100% sure where you would pitch a reality show, but I can make a couple of suggestions for you to contact.

1 - WGSA - the Writers' Guild may be able to point you in the right direction, but they usually expect people to become a member. It's worth sending them a general query to see how helpful (or not) they're willing to be - https://writersguildsa.org/https://writersguildsa.org/

2 - Upon a Quest - a new company who are based in South Africa, doing agency/management work. They might be able to assist you with pitching your idea to one of the broadcasting companies - https://uponaquest.wordpress.com/https://uponaquest.wordpress.com/

Hope some of that information helps and best of luck with everything.

Thank you, you were very helpful. I appreciate it.

I suggest you tape the show yourself using your smartphone if you don’t have access to equipment, and then you have a concept video you can post on YouTube and gain a following there. Then you can take that data and pitch to bigger production companies if you’d like, OR just continue to put them out digitally. Hope for the best!
