Found this video on an Event Planner breaking down scenes from films. While it was meant to debunk the validity of the event, what it REALLY did was give a 40-minute glimpse into what a producer does ALL THE TIME.
DUDES... I had to watch this twice because she NAILS each and every detail! What did you learn from her? What have you learned from your own event planning that can be applied to planning a production?

This was fascinating. I can't believe she was thinking like $200,000 for the lighting portion of the party scene plus the generators.

Amanda Toney RIGHT?! Oh, dude - I imagine event planners are able to price gouge (sp?) in a way that film producers refuse to, so those price points are likely at the highest end LOL.
