A shadow entity that responds to despair – Introducing the “Sikító”

I’m developing a supernatural story (currently in book form, with a pilot concept in progress), where unseen spiritual laws shape reality.

Here’s a short teaser about a creature called a “Sikító” (meaning “Screamer” in Hungarian) – a terrifying presence that seems to answer despair with death.

Would love to hear your thoughts or reactions.

What if… something heard your scream before anyone else did?

In my story, there’s a kind of entity we call a “Sikító.”

You’ll smell it before you see it.

You’ll feel it before you understand what it wants.

And if you ever make eye contact...

Well. No one who did lived to tell the tale.

Some say they only come when something inside you breaks.

Others believe… they’re always near. Just waiting for an invitation.

Some truths are better left in the shadows.

Sounds spooky! Love it. Reminds me a bit of IT FOLLOWS but with your own twist. Who's the protagonist?

Nathalie Mayht

Thank you so much, Geoffroy! I really appreciate that – especially the IT FOLLOWS comparison.

The main character is Tammy – and let’s just say… she sees things no one else dares to.

Sikító sounds creepy and scary, Nathalie Mayht! It reminds me a bit of It Follows too, Geoffroy Faugerolas. And The Ring.

Nathalie Mayht

Thank you so much, Maurice!

I really appreciate the comparisons – both IT FOLLOWS and The Ring were huge inspirations in how fear is built through silence and presence.

The “Sikító” is just one of many dark forces in this world… but it’s the one that comes when despair opens the door.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Nathalie Mayht. I think Sikító is going to stand out from other Horror stories.
