Hey Screenwriting Lounge — Jores Philippe Jr. here.
Writer-director based in New York City. Currently deep in pre-production on my short film The Hands That Beat The Drum — a bilingual Haitian Kreyòl/English father-daughter story about grief, cultural legacy, and drumming in the Brooklyn diaspora.
The script just made the Quarterfinals of the Stage 32 + DramaBox competition and picked up an Honorable Mention from the Finish Line Script Competition earlier this year. Heading into a late summer shoot in New York.

Congratulations, Jores Philippe, Jr.! I know I already said that in your Introduction Lounge post, but it bears repeating. What a wonderful accomplishment.
