Screenwriting : Movie script to TV script by Lynn Wilkinson

Movie script to TV script

I have been writing a movie that is just plain getting to long to tell the full story. Considering changing the format to a TV series. It's set in two different parts of the country and thus might lend itself to a TV drama. Wondering about changing it over. What do you use to write a TV series? Do you think it can be done? Comments appreciated.

A tv script and a movie script are created differently. For a television series, you'll need your pilot episode, consisting of a teaser and (usually) 4 acts, as well as a bible that gives info on your characters and your first season. If you google it you should be able to come up with info on how to properly execute it.

Thank you I will look on google for more info. Thanks again.

I think converting to a tv is a good idea. I've done it with a script that I had struggled with for a long time. It turned out really well. You just have to learn the format. This will help. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/the-screenwriters-simple_b_8923734.html
