Screenwriting : New project by Rania Araibi

New project

Hello everyone,

I’ve been away for a while due to personal reasons.

I wanted to share that I have an idea for a Japanese-American series, centered around a conflict between Japanese clans.

The genre would be romantic, dramatic, and action-based.

At the moment, I only have the core concept and haven’t started writing yet.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this new project.

I love anything Japanese! I’d say go for it because you want to get the story out! I just finished an 124 page

Hi Rania, welcome back. Thank you for sharing this and trusting the community with your idea.

A Japanese-American series centered on clan conflict with romance, drama, and action is a really compelling foundation, especially at the concept stage where you can shape the world, characters, and tone with intention. You’re absolutely in the right place to start getting feedback and exploring next steps.

If you’d like help figuring out how to develop this into a series, outline your story, or decide what education might best support you right now, feel free to email edu@stage32.com ... I’m happy to help recommend webinars, classes or other education that align with where you’re at!

Stage32 glitches gotta love them. Anyways. I just finished a 125 pages Disney crossover. I write because I love storytelling not because I’m chasing the money. Although getting paid for my work would be awesome

Hi, Rania Araibi. Welcome back. A Japanese-American series centered around a conflict between Japanese clans sounds interesting! I'd definitely watch it. I picture it being kind of like The Sopranos.

I could think of 2 animations that could be beneficial for the Japanese-American concepts:

The first concept is Kyoto based world-building, but it shows the bipedal anthropomorphic animals doing village work like rice farming, selling rice, fish, and coins. Protagonists are three misunderstood thieves who are former samurais for the imperial kingdom who are fighting to protect and taking back from the kingdom's crippled security system where they stole the sources the villages needed to gain prosperity.

The second concept is Tokyo-Chicago based world-building, but it also show the bipedal anthropomorphic animals are running the eco-friendly city and the city is huge on buildings, Shinkansen, Sushi shops, Ramen shops, and apartment buildings. Protagonists are basically robotic engineers who are trying to do their best to make amends with their families, including the chores until they discovered a rare gem that would incorporate the functions on themselves and became Mecha-Heroes and they travel across the Japan-American nation in search of dangers that would affect the ecosystem and corrupt scientists which greed and hatred are the sources of negativity.

It can be Comedy, Science Fiction, Superhero, or even Slice of Life. I'm more of a positive tone type of person where Satires, Dark Humors, Gore Violence, and Cynicism are not allowed. You can think about it.

P.S. Japanese Clans in my opinion can be solved by negotiating and protecting one from another from evil monsters or corrupt corporations to tear the clan villages to make a golf course or a luxury casino resort.
