This week, Evan Anglin shared some insights from his side of the pitching field and gave us some much needed centering on staying humble, human, and relatable.

Connection and confidence go miles toward making you memorable. One thing I want to highlight is something he noted at the end of his post. He gives us 4 things he's evaluating during the pitch.
Of those 4 things, he only mentions the script in the first. The other 3 are all about YOU, the writer.
As writers, the story IS NOT our biggest asset. WE are the asset. A pitch is a little story and a whole lotta you as a professional. Being new won't stop you. Not being you will.
So bring your warmth, your glow, your snark and snarl. Whatever makes you, the writer, you. You are the asset. Time to shine.

Now! Goals. Week 4 is upon us and I have my two main project updates. I have finished two feature scripts so far this month, which I'm very pleased about.
This week I'm going to be tackling a new pass on INSPIRATION INC. still seeding that front end character work. But y'all, when I say this story is special? That's not something I say. Speaking of other stories, you've heard me say good, great. I.I.? This one is DIFFERENT.
My other feature I completed earlier this month, TETHERED, will see another rewrite here soon. I am very excited to see what these revisions bring. It'll revert my story back to its originally intended ending (I think) It will add pages, but I'm super stoked about it. I'm just hoping it's not a page one rewrite. But even if it is, I'll embrace it.
So, week 4 is for layering, edits, and revisions. What are your goals for week 4?

Elle Bolan Yes Elle!!! Go get those stories!!!! I love it, love the titles actually, super intriguing. I'm working on "doing and saying " less in pitch land, and feeling and really listening to the characters and maybe refresh myself with the scripts, before my next pitches. BE more, and Do less. Go get it Elle!

Elle Bolan I'm also editing, revising and updating my spec TV Pilot after getting feedback from both a table read and an award winning writer. Lots of great suggestions and advice from all of them. Good luck with your goals!
