Hello Everyone,
I keep hearing 2-3 pages is the max for a screenplay scene. Does the occasional longer scene (4-5 pages) hurt a screenplay?
Also, is that a dealbreaker for industry execs. who've asked to read your script?
Thanks,
T.A.

Hi, Tuvan Uner. Scenes can be longer than 2-3 pages. Long scenes are fine if they're entertaining, gripping, hilarious, or scary. And ask yourself if the scene really needs to be 4 pages, 5 pages, etc.
Maurice Vaughan thanks!
You're welcome, Tuvan Uner. A lot of short scenes makes a script feel fast, and a lot of long scenes makes it feel slow.
Nope, Tuvan Uner. You could use "can you loan me a quarter? I promise not to pay you back." as dialogue in a script.
nope
not at all… just write a great scene.
Tommy Gallego thanks!
