Pitch Structure

Hey All-

Quick question as I construct my pitch for a feature film. The script is written in present day, and the past is told through flashbacks. In the pitch, is it best to tell the story chronologically, starting from where the flashbacks start and move into present day?

I wrote it following the beats of the script but it seems more confusing to keep backtracking in a verbal pitch.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello Aimee, I guess the best way to pitch your feature is to follow the narration of your screenplay, so not chronologically. Sometimes, when the story needs it, a prelude can be done to establish the rules and the past of a fictional/fantasy world ( for example Lord of the Rings). The difficult part now is to find the right balance between present day and flashbacks to not lose the attention of the reader or producer.
