Screenwriting : Should your first script be about you by Alistair Anderson

Alistair Anderson

Should your first script be about you

Is it impossible not to be autobiographical in your first script.

Craig D Griffiths

My first screenplay was about a teenage girl. The male characters may have had some of my understanding of the world. But no one was me.

If you want to write about you. You should do that. Write what inspires.

Alistair Anderson

Thank you! I must just write.

Craig D Griffiths

Yep. I writer, writes.

I wrote to a manager yesterday that asked what I had coming up. I went through my project list in writerduet and realised I have 15 unfinished projects.

That is because I am easily distracted and none of them grabbed me enough to finish them.

I will put in my big boy pants to get some finished.

Kiril Maksimoski

Not necessarily, although there's certainty "you" in every story you write...

Doug Nelson

The short answer is no (for a whole boatload of reasons).
