THE OFFER: A master class in how to "Raise the Stakes."

Though this series debuted last April, I've finally found some time to watch it (Stupid screenwriting! Always getting in the way!) I'm currently on episode 7 of the 10-part series. Highlights: The script is excellent! I'm frantically racing through the pages in my head as I watch because the pacing is so good. Not ONE dull scene in the bunch!

Stellar acting: My two personal favs are British actor Matthew Goode, who hits an absolute grand slam as Paramount Head of Production, Robert Evans. My God, how this man was able to rein in that "Unique Voice" is nothing short of phenomenal. Equally impressive is Giovanni Ribisi as mafia crime boss Joe Colombo. The guy just naturally drips of faux sincerity, death, and destruction. If on the verge of watching, pay close attention to the "Raising of Stakes." It's really quite an achievement.

I gotta watch the series and read the script, Bill Brock. Raising the stakes is one of my biggest focuses when I outline, write, and rewrite. Thanks.

Maurice Vaughan This one TOTALLY DELIVERS! It has "raising the stakes" on practically every page! And it's a 10-PART SERIES!!!! : )

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, Bill Brock. I should be able to watch ten episodes in a few days.

Bill Brock

Maurice Vaughan Pay close attention to my two favs. Both are well-worth the monthly price of streaming admission.

Maurice Vaughan

Will do, Bill Brock.

A worthy watch. Michael Tolkin, who among other things, wrote Robert Altman's THE PLAYER, did the heavy lifting wrangling a broad and epic story.

And I couldn't agree more about Matthew Goode. Best thing about the series. He should be a much bigger star at this point.

Richard "RB" Botto I'm astounded at how GREAT it is. Matt Goode is incredible in EVERY scene he occupies. What he does with that LOOK and that CIGARETTE directly at camera when his Gulf & Western boss welcomes him back (in episode 9, I believe), tells him "Now go make me money!," and walks away, is absolute GENIUS! It's as if Robert Evans is looking right through to my living room and thinking-- " I'm Bob "F***ing" Evans. You bet your ass I'm back!!" Priceless. Did you ever see Mr. Goode in of my favorites-- A SINGLE MAN (2009)? Another Grand Slam performance!!

Chris Rubalcaba

I love this show. It's inspirational.

Pat Alexander

It's a great series. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures has an excellent exhibit running right now until 2025 called: "The Art of Moviemaking: The Godfather" which if you love the show is a great companion experience to the making of story. Really cool to check out if you're in LA or ever in LA

Lynette Willoughby

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely check this out.

Pat Alexander Thanks so much for letting me know, Pat. I plan to be in Los Angeles on May 2-6 to attend the Beverly Hills International Film Festival in support of my nominated screenplay, WHERE'S GRACE? I was already looking forward to visiting the museum, but now, thanks to you, I have an added incentive! BRAVO, MR. ALEXANDER, BRAVO!!

Richard "RB" Botto

I'll second Pat Alexander's rec on the GODFATHER exhibit. Very well done.
