Tell me about your projects!

Always curious to see what everyone else is writing and it's nice to communicate with others, so tell me, what are you writing? :)

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Shayla Booth. My main project is a Horror Action feature script I'm rewriting.

Stefano Pavone

Currently working on what I think might just be my best story so far - "The Empress Project". After 20 years of writing, I finally put what I've learned into a streamlined yet epic story.

Ana Folhadela

I've been adapting the first novel from my dark collection into scripts. The script for the first big chapter of the book is done. Two more to go to this book. After I plan to adapt the other books from my dark collection. They are extremely violent thrillers and I truly believe they could become great movies.

Martin Graham

Hey Shayla! I think we briefly chatted about it, but currently:

• Getting my current, finished horror screenplay, 11 Elmridge, out there. Preparing it for contests, feedback, etc.

• Working on my next, a sci-fi/horror/romance called Takeover: A Love Story. It's early still, but the beats are all laid out, and now I'm just working through scenes in ACT 1!

Holly Fouche

Well, my main project right now, Rescue Team 7, is a YA Sci-fi/Horror series following a group of teens who rescue robots with human souls. I finished the pilot a while ago and now I'm just working to connect with people who'd be interested in developing it lol it's placed in 3 competitions so far, but I'm waiting on more results coming tomorrow and Friday lol

Shayla Booth

Hey Martin Graham Nice to chat to you again! If you would like a read-through just let me know, it sounds super interesting!

Shayla Booth

Hello Holly Fouche that sounds really great! All the luck with it :)

Sean Rodman

I'm currently one scene and 4 pages away from finishing a pilot script that I first had the idea for 10 years ago. And I know exactly how I'm going to land the plane, which feels good. The final deadline for Stage 32's Film & TV Comedy Screenwriting Contest helped me finally turn this idea into an actual script by giving me a completion date to aim for. Having spent 30 years writing advertising, I like deadlines.

Juliana Philippi

Shayla Booth Hello there! Currently on my first reverse rom-com, lol, such a fun, new pace and energy to this script! Getting really into the nitty gritty of it, and totally floored by the place it is taking me, off piste! Off outline, but, way, way better. Have other coals heating in the fire, pending this first draft done, an action/adventure tv series I have to rework, and other screenplay ideas I cannot wait to dig in to. And, on top of it all...walking my huskies, lol.

Morgan Knibbs

Hello how are you?

Morgan Knibbs

I am also writing a script for my tv series Good Medicine

Desiree Middleton

A scifi horror short (polishing up), to shoot in the woods at the end of this month. and a biopic because I’ve had it on my mind for so long I need to write it.

Asif Balouch

Working on a thriller with dark comedy elements. It's going to be my 6th spec. Looking forward to the Christmas break from work to actually get time to bang out a first draft.

Anorah Ravelle

Hi Shayla! I'm currently developing a gothic fantasy series set in the late Victorian era, centered on a sentient manor, an ancient curse, and a forbidden supernatural bond between the protagonists. It's a dark, emotionally charged universe I've been expanding through my novels, and now I'm adapting it for TV. Excited to be here and learn more about what everyone is creating.

Kseniia Zhuravleva

Hey, I’m glad you asked! :)

I’m doing a rewrite of my project, almost done with the first pass, and surprisingly, it’s going really well.

Right now I’m also working on a project outline for a small studio, also a thriller, still in the concept discussion phase.

And I’m writing jokes. I just can’t stop. It takes up a lot of time, but I CAN’T NOT WRITE JOKES!!!

Philippe Jeanneteau

Hi Shayla! Thanks for asking — love the openness of the community here.

I’m currently developing a near-future elevated sci-fi series called GLITCH. It follows a sensitive, blue-collar worker living in a society quietly shaped by emotional-guidance AIs. When a small mistake from his assistant nearly costs him his arm, it triggers a chain of events that exposes the limits of a system built on “well-being.”

I’m also working on a darker, found-footage-style project around urban exploration and paranormal distortions — very character-driven, very grounded.

Always happy to connect and exchange about writing and worldbuilding. What are you working on? :)

Chiera McLaughlin

Hi Shayla ! I have just finished the first draft of my short film, The Ringer - It centres around a day in the life of a quiet ringer and his dog as they move through a single day in the Australian outback, where routine, silence, and companionship reveal the life he’s built for himself.

It's intended to be a quiet, yet cinematic short film, with the Australian Outback landscape being a character in and of it's own.

Happy to discuss further or share with anyone who would like to read and share thoughts.

Oh boy, let's see. I just finished up a rewrite on my feature TETHERED last week. My feature INSPIRATION INC is up for another pass since I got notes from my reader wanting more resolution. And drafting on my feature SHIFT is now heavily underway. Act 1 is about done.

Juan Rodriguez

Hey im working on a horror film that i recently just pitch it’s called The Demon Who Writes The Star, It’s a prestige horror story about a rising music artist who discovers that his fame isn’t just making him popular — it’s feeding something ancient and evil.

The louder the world chants his name, the stronger a demon becomes. His concerts turn out to be rituals, his fans become vessels, and his popularity becomes the doorway for a cosmic entity to enter our world. To survive, he has to break the ritual using the one thing the demon can’t control:

Human imperfection.

It’s a story about fame, trauma, obsession, and how dangerous it can be when the world worships you for the wrong reasons.

Marie Hatten
