In Series, to me, it's impossible to answer with a neat, tidy response because different networks allow for different structures. I advise 4 acts + Teaser or 5 acts (no Teaser) in general for hour-long. Read/watch lots of pilots and you will see there is no set structure across networks.
I know, I have been reading and they are all quite different, that's why I asked! Anyway, that link was awesome. A four month old conversation, and you remembered exactly where to find it. You're awesome, Regina. thank-you!
Hi, Sarah. Yes, this is very confusing. My TV writing partner, Linda, and I ended up going with a teaser and five acts. There are a HUGE number of theories out there about this. But in the end, I think, it's about writing talent, and it can all be adapted to cable, network, whatever their needs are. I've read some current smash hit series whose original scripts are very old hat (with a teaser) even if that's not how they were ultimately filmed.

I recommend around 59-64. There is a psychological advantage in 59 because the reader is less intimidated. Not all shows use Teasers.
Thanks, Regina. How many pages per act?
