Can you believe 2026 is almost 1/4 complete? In addition to finding funding for our feature, I've also just written the rough draft of a Short Film. Hoping to complete it and get it done for Louisiana Film Prize this year. What are your goals? Can you make them S.M.A.R.T? Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound?

In my view, writing a screenplay is like building a house. Professionals know what sells and how to create success. As an amateur, my goal is to continue learning effective nuances of the craft, keep my production line of scripts evolving, with frequent in-process reviews. 2026: evals for rewrites on three finished screenplays, and complete first drafts on three new projects. Wishing you all success securing funding. Good karma will find you!

My big goal is probably not S.M.A.R.T. (it's to complete 21 unique projects by the end of October lol), but the important thing is getting started, especially since I'm just coming off of a major anemia spell.
