Sound Forge Audio Studio Audition Edits

Hi Folks! I have Audio Studio in my home studio. When I send out auditions I remove breaths, and normalize to -3. I send out auditions with Audio: 96 Kbps, 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Mono, MP3. That's pretty much it. No gateway or cross fades. I am curious how other working voice actors send out their auditions. Thanks!!

Hi Susan. I record using Adobe Audition, which is amazingly versatile. It has the full range of options for bits, Kbps, etc. When saving MP3 files, some clients request lower Kbps rates; some higher, so that is usually the biggest variable that I have been seeing. I also use a plug in equalizer program - iZotope Nectar Elements, which allows a variety of "adjustments", and effects that can also be customized. It helps Audition clean up plosives, clicks, etc, too.

Thanks for the info! I will check it out!

Larry, THANK YOU!!! Is the compression and noise gate part of the program? Did you have to buy them ? Oh, this is so helpful to me!

I use Cockos Reaper for recording and employ the iZotope Nectar 2 plugin for compression, limiting, noise gate and EQ. I also use iZotope RX3 to remove clicks and pops. I export at 320 Kbps, 48,000Hz, 24-bit, Stereo, MP3. I may adjust the output settings depending on requirements.

Thanks Jeff. I will look into that!
