Oceanscape Network: Life in Ruins – The Wildlife of Ft. Stevens State Park

The Oregon Coast is an amazing place for wildlife spotting. But it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start if you're interested in seeing terrestrial species including birds, mammals and insects. Produced for the Oregon Coast Aquarium's Oceanscape Network, this brief video provides suggestions on how young people can safely explore abandoned sites and spot wild animals at the same time. Here, the sprawling ruins of Fort Stevens State Park are used as an example as hosted by Marsh Myers, the aquarium's administrator for the Oceanscape Network. The Oceanscape Network is a new online resource designed for teens and teachers. The website will premiere in the summer of 2013, but you can visit the preview site now at http://oceanscape.aquarium.org.
