Hello Everyone! I'm new here on Stage 32, as in all those online actors' networks on the whole... I'm swedish, opera singer/actor with a double education and double passions. Since a few years I'm living in Germany, to pursue my opera career, but my longing for working with spoken theatre/film acting again is growing by the day. Is it then possible to pursue both these careers? They both demand everything of the impassioned and the day only has 24h. I do hope so and soon there will be more material from me to be found online! After not having worked properly as an actor fora few years a feel a bit shy and like a beginner again, when it comes to networking and contacts and finding my ways. But I'm enjoying myself and hope I'll find a lot of interesting information and meet many interesting people here on Stage32!

Welcome, Solgerd. It's not every day you see someone here with an opera background. Very impressive. And I'm sure the discipline you bring to your singing will help you as you continue to pursue acting. Perhaps you can do theatre and film projects in between opera seasons. But if you do live theatre, be careful that the vocal demands don't compromise your singing voice. An operatic voice is a delicate instrument. Have you performed all the great opera roles you've dreamed of yet? Maybe after you reach some of those milestones in opera, you'll feel more free to pursue more acting roles. Just throwing out some thoughts here. I'm sure there's many paths you could follow. And I think anyone who has the dedication to make it to the professional opera stage can do anything she sets her mind to. :)

Dear Kelly, you have a point about the spoken theatre vocal situation and demands. For the moment I am mainly dreaming of camera work..
