Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter / Producer by Ben Trebilcook

Hey 32-ers. I'm Ben. I'm a writer / producer from London and I've been championing RB and the site since its early days. I've been writing for nearing twenty years, from low-budgets to a 'goodness gracious how-much?' level. Last year I gained a great deal of attention due to a spec script I wrote for a potential sixth 'Die Hard' movie. The interest has been predominantly positive, gaining me rewrite work on other projects, some wonderful flag-waving from both fans and notable talents in this business. The negative side were the trolls. If there was ever a time for a Troll Hunter, then that was it. Recent projects had me produce a sci-fi movie, due out on DVD in a few months. With Stage 32 I was able to get the crew I needed in the exact location to where I was seeking. It was such an easy and successful experience and with people I would work with again in a heartbeat. I have also been fortunate to use the Stage 32 'Happy Writers' spin-off service and I couldn't speak more highly of Joey, who heads it and the experience and professionals available to writers. It's definitely a service I would recommend writers to try out. I've a few screenplays in development at the moment; a martial arts movie and a female driven action spy film, which I am also producing as well as a couple of scripts with well-known production companies and I will soon be launching my first novel. I've met several fellow Stage 32-ers at some London meet-ups, which proved both enjoyable and successful, with regard to making some great contacts in this business.
