If you're going to create an in-person writers group, you need to have at least 1-2 people in the group that has some REAL experience in the film industry in some way. Whether they've been optioned, sold, rep'd, gone through development process, or have some real background in script reading and critiquing. Otherwise, chances are, it will be the blind leading the blind and the notes that are given could do more harm then good.
