Introduce Yourself : Writer/Producer/Social Entrepreneur by Lorie Jackson

Lorie Jackson

Writer/Producer/Social Entrepreneur

I am a student, entrepreneur, and philanthropist embarking on a new journey as independent filmmaker. Often times, I have considered myself the writer that doesn't write, but now I'm learning to embrace writing and prayerfully it will enable me to share some of the stories that I have harbored for many years. I'm excited to use this platform as a networking tool to enhance my filmmaking experiences and share my vision on a global scale. In addition, I am a socially conscious individual that supports charitable causes globally. As a result, the film/TV projects that I produce will educate and entertain our viewing audience while also placing an emphasis on humanitarianism and advocating social enterprise. Presently, I am working to build a school in Ghana, West Africa. Proceeds from my projects will eventually support this school, education, and the eradication of poverty. Oh, and I'm from the South Side of Chicago. :-) Now, lets bring stories to life...

Welcome to the Stage Lorie. Pens Up!

Bryce Gardner

About 30 miles south of Chicago myself. Welcome Lorie. :)

Lydia Kalmen

Welcome! I love hearing about your charitable work and goals and about your projects being educational. We need more of that in this world!

Lorie Jackson

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone. Lynda, I'm very passionate about charitable outreach initiatives and giving back. I believe whatever I have or am able to do will benefit at least one person. Hopefully, as a result, they can share something to help enrich someone else's life. :-)

Michael John Berridge

Lorie, I share your sentiments. I am based in Johannesburg South Africa. The difficulty I am up against is the financing for such projects. I have the knowledge, but I am battling to find local people who can create scripts, obtain a contract, and start the job. The people I keep meeting start something, and then abandone it. My encouragement does not seem to be helping.

Lorie Jackson

Michael- I reside in Chicago. Yes, financing can be quite challenging at times, but we must be persistent. Let's dialogue more when time permits. Joey- Thanks for such kind words. I endeavor to do my part or make a contribution as much as possible. A movie or documentary about my life sounds interesting. By the way, where are you from and what's your background?

Eric Schneider

Sounds like your intention comes from a Christian point of view, Lorie. That's great. And although I treasure Jesus' teachings, I study and practice Buddha's teaching more specifically. I would love to write compelling screenplays with some of Buddha's teachings - e.g., compassion, non-discrimination, inner & outer peace, emptiness, non-anger, and non-fear - as their themes.

Lorie Jackson

Hi Eric! Great perception and insight, yes, I'm a Christian, born-again believer. However, that's not in a religious or traditional sense. I believe in unity and oneness opposed to the separation of groups or beliefs based on a denomination. As a result, this is depicted in my writing and projects which are multicultural and cater to an international audience. I welcome the opportunity to further communicate with you and glean from your wisdom.

Lorie Jackson

Hi Jaimee! It's a pleasure meeting you as well. Thanks for such kind words. I am honored by your interest, and esteeming my humanitarian efforts. I welcome the opportunity to communicate and share more about my vision.
