Introduce myself you say? Well I just might.

Hi all, My name is Adam Matalon, I'm a new member of this illustrious portal. I'm a showrunner, executive producer, director, writer. I've worked in scripted, unscripted, short and long form digital. I direct, I produce, I write - sometimes on the same project but more often not. I like comedy, dark subjects, beautiful pictures and talented people who are actively pursuing their craft. I'm lucky enough to make a living working in an industry I love. For better or worse I make stuff that people actually watch :-) I love to laugh onset have fun when I'm working. I'm happy to connect with real collaborators who are also making things happen. I am currently looking for a small scale project to direct, but that means a good script... "Therin lies the rub" as William would say.

I'll take "illustrious portal!" Congratulations on your show's Emmy nomination last year for "Tainted Dreams" - what an honor that must be! I love your Desert Island movies - I'm not familiar with Mao's Last Dancer, why is it one of your favorites? Glad to have you in the Stage 32 community, what would you like to accomplish being here? Let us help you!

Oh, and somehow I missed this "Showrunner, 2 passports accent and damn funny!" - you have moved swiftly to one of my favorite Stage 32ers already!

What a fantastic post, Adam, and so great to have you, your talents and your experience here on Stage 32! You clearly have much to offer to the community! I very much look forward to your contributions!

Hey Julie, Mao's last dancer is a film by Bruce Beresford. It performed poorly in the US as it was marketed to an Asian only audience, but I caught it on Netflix and I loved it so much I did something I never do, and that's write a fan letter to Bruce who was kind and gracious enough to write me back. In a great coincidence we met a few months ago at a private event and we spoke about it at some length.
