Coming out of getting my M.A., I've got two screenplays under my belt; the second being in its third draft. My first--my baby, which I've posted on here--has be passed around in contests for the last two years like a cheap hussy. No assignments, or a yes, but still going--still writing. However, that's the first mark of a upcoming, seasoned screenwriter: taking the no's and still showing up to the keys. After the quarter-finals were put up, and I saw I didn't make the cut, my inside's turned. It was a gut punch-, but I knew I had to swallow it, go back to the pages, take a bone saw to my baby (sounds fucked up, right?), and send it back out. I'm here on Stage 32 to put my foot in the door, and show that not only do have amazing fucking idea's (excuse my candor, I'm a writer after all), but I respect the craft. You said it best, brother. Just keep working the craft, keep writing. Sometimes you can get your presumed dead baby out of the closet, dust it off and sell it like a hot pancake. Yes, we both can play this game :) Cheers, and don't forget the happy writers, sometimes if you find just the right person to pitch to it might just change your life.

Thanks for the words (and imagery), sir. I've been looking at the pitch fests on Happy Writers with a keen, hungry eye for a while now. Sucks that they cost a little money, but you gotta pay to play in this business. (Thank goodness for shitty retail jobs!)
