In my last screenplay, I changed the Leading and Spacing format. I changed it back to its proper standard settings for my next screenplay. However, I have noticed that throughout my script there are extra spaces and if a character has dialogue, sporadically it will be split up into two dialogues right after each other. Then the text in the Action line will have extra spaces. I went through my whole entire screenplay two times, but each time I correct and save it the spacing gets changed in another spot. Has anyone ever had this problem before and what did you do to fix it?? I'm using FInal Draft as my software.

Just curious are you using a script software Jaclyn? Kind of like Writer's Duel or Adobe Script?

^^thats my question as well. If you're using the proper software your script should format automatically.
I'm using Final Draft

Not sure then. Maybe go to FD website and see if they can help you? Worst case, you might need to uninstall and reinstall the program. It's set up to format automatically so I don't know what happens when you tinker with that.

^^^ Jody Ellis is right. Un-install and re-install the program. If it still gives you grief, try a different software because all script software does come formatted for spacing and the whatnot.
Unfortunately it did not fix it, but I will call Final Draft tomorrow to see what they can do. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
What?

Yes like A.S. said, stick to default margins in the future. There's no need to mess with them. Ever.

Owen is right, when you set it up for printing, it will let you know and ask you if you want it, autocorrected. Then again I use Magic, so not completely sure. Good luck.
